House Ant

House Ant

About this project

A wide variety of ant species are found throughout North America. Most house ants feed on organic matter and are especially attracted by sweet foods. Ant colonies (nests) hibernate in the soil or garden trash about 1-2 inches below the ground.

If they are finding comfort in your home it may be a result of extreme weather conditions in the Bay Area.  So when the rainy season hits coupled with hot/cold temperatures, ants begin to look for a new environment to nest. Day & Nite Pest control has extensive experience dealing with house ants in the Bay Area. Contact us today if ants are bugging you!

Distinguishing Characteristics:
Although there are many different species of common house ants, most are black, brown or reddish in color. They range from 1/6″ to 1/4″ in length with an enlarged abdomen. May be winged or wingless.
